that has benefited from PCF s expertise is Crabby Bill s Family Brands Co owner Maria Loder recognizes the importance of community impact while maintaining core operations and PCF has proven to be a valuable partner in achieving that balance Maria s commitment to giving back stems from her upbringing Her parents political refugees from Cuba instilled in her the value of philanthropy Inspired by her mother in law s generosity Maria sought to continue her family s tradition of altruism However as Crabby Bill s Family Brands grew managing business and community involvement became challenging At her tax accountant s recommendation Maria turned to PCF for assistance The opportunity to meet philanthropic goals without establishing a private family foundation appealed to her and PCF s expertise nonprofits and governments have gained traction and revolutionized program and service delivery These collaborations combine the strengths of both sectors resulting in cost savings efficiency expertise transparency and accountability PPPs offer streamlined processes compared to traditional government approaches with nonprofits agility allowing them to quickly adapt to challenges and changing needs Pinellas Community Foundation PCF has been a leader in this regard In Clearwater the city partnered with PCF to address housing issues caused by the closure of the Capri Mobile Home Park Using American Rescue Plan Act ARPA funds PCF and the Homeless Leadership Alliance partnered to successfully help 38 families find permanent housing in just 100 days St Petersburg collaborated with PCF to address the need for mental wellness supports in under resourced areas Funding community support Hubs will allow for robust wraparound services ensuring quick responses to changing needs A nonprofit incubator will provide aspiring nonprofits with capacity building services to make a meaningful impact At the county level Pinellas County partnered with PCF to allocate over 19 million in ARPA funds for capital projects supporting nonprofits impacted by the coronavirus pandemic PPPs succeed by leveraging nonprofit and government strengths to enable cost savings specialized expertise Gentry and her team focus on educating the next generation about financial planning She believes women approach estate planning differently emphasizing clients goals dreams charitable giving and their
