these specific populations including transportation nutrition case management and caregiving Suncoast PACE supports and cares for seniors facing chronic illnesses PACE helps participants achieve a healthy quality of life stay active and socially connected and live independently at home Services include primary care therapies skilled care social and emotional support inhome care and support and transportation to and from the center Loved ones also receive education guidance and respite St Petersburg Clearwater Aging Well Center Clearwater Westminster Retirement Communities Foundation St Petersburg The Clearwater Aging Well Center located on the Long Center campus in Clearwater serves as a hub for information and support related to aging and caregiving Employing evidence based Arts Culture American Stage Company aka American Stage Theatre St Petersburg Artz 4 Life Academy Clearwater Creative Clay s mission is to help people with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives through access to the arts by providing expressive educational and vocational experiences Its core program the Community Arts Program serves 50 60 adult artists with neurological differences each week Through additional summer camp and outreach offerings individuals of all ages and abilities are mentored taught and empowered to become working artists who actively create market and sell their work Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts Benefiting the Mahaffey Theater Tampa Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts supports performing arts programming at the Mahaffey Theater The foundation provides arts education programs for youth community outreach performances and concerts for the entire community Bill Edwards Foundation and Mahaffey Theater collaborate with the city of St Petersburg and its cultural neighbors to bring awareness to the importance of the arts and position St Petersburg on the world stage City of Dunedin Pipe Band Dunedin In 1850 the city of Dunedin was settled by Scots and has continued to keep the Scottish heritage as part of the community spirit The band focused on education and continuing the Scottish arts started in 1964 as an outlet for young adults who participated in piping and drumming while attending Dunedin schools Members of the band donate their time and efforts to maintain their status as a first class band When they compete throughout the country The City of Dunedin Pipe Band wears the Edgewater tartan 14 Pinellas Community Foundation St Petersburg David A Straz Jr Center for the Performing Arts The David A Straz Jr Center for the Performing Arts provides performing arts experiences educational outreach and enrichment through a variety of programs for educators families community partners and adults The center offers the highest quality performing arts performing arts training and arts education from around the region and the world Dunedin Fine Art Center Dunedin The original idea for an art center in Dunedin dates back to 1969 when five women from the Junior Service League of ClearwaterDunedin sought to create a space within the community where the arts could be perpetuated and celebrated Five years later the women s vision came to fruition when they broke ground on the Dunedin Fine Art Center Continuing the commitment to grow a fine arts and cultural center Dunedin Fine Art Center offers classes rotating form Health Care In 1978 Marjory B Vary an accomplished and well known artist in St Petersburg left a 600 000 endowment to Pinellas Community Foundation The endowment specifically named the Museum of Fine Arts St Petersburg as the beneficiary The Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation creates innovative initiatives that change lives Every October the foundation delivers a world class live music Homeless Empowerment Program If you ve known someone in the military you know that the associated physical and mental health issues are recurring everyday civilian responsibilities don t reconcile with military priorities Thanks to the commitment of a supportive community the course of life for Kelly Waggoner a Navy veteran manages his PTSD and has hope in his life To look at this hardy good humored man you wouldn t guess that just 10 months ago Kelly was hospitalized for depression and considered suicidal Feeling he had no safe place to go the Bay Pines VA Medical Center referred Kelly to what he now calls his Heaven on Earth That s the Homeless Empowerment Program HEP in Clearwater Kelly is sincerely grateful for the support he receives and he considers HEP an essential service for can tell you that a confident girl brings an inner glow to the table Girls on the Run participants know that star power helps ladies thrive in the lunchroom at school and in future boardrooms Alpha House provides housing and supportive services to homeless pregnant women and teens new mothers with infants and families experiencing crisis pregnancies Alpha House is Pinellas County s only residential maternity program Since 1979 it has provided housing and support services to more than 3 000 women teens and infants Approximately 90 of program participants successfully transition into permanent housing and independent living Pace introduces hope love and change to girls and young women in Pinellas County Pace ensures its girls receive education counseling training and advocacy to offer positive opportunities for a better future Since 1997 Pace has assisted more than 1 500 girls and young women who were failing in school struggling with histories of abuse combating unhealthy relationships and facing a wide range of other serious risks The third to fifth grade girls learn to cultivate their star power twice a week through Girls on the Run They show it every time they run a lap and give their coaches a high five or complete their pre run activities Before the running begins the girls participate in circle time dedicated to discussion and friendship building During one afternoon session at Pinellas Central Elementary School participants learned about inner beauty qualities At the beginning of a run each girl receives a peer s name on an index card After each lap the House provides housing and supportive services to homeless pregnant women and teens new mothers with infants and families experiencing crisis pregnancies Alpha House is Pinellas County s only residential maternity program Since 1979 it has provided housing and support services to more than 3 000 women teens and infants Approximately 90 of program participants successfully transition into permanent housing and independent living Pace introduces hope love and change to girls and young women in Pinellas County Pace ensures its girls receive education counseling training and advocacy to offer positive opportunities for a better future Since 1997 Pace has assisted more than 1 500 girls and young women who were failing in school struggling with histories of abuse combating unhealthy relationships and facing a wide range of other serious risks The third to fifth grade girls learn to cultivate their star power twice a week through Girls on the Run They show it every time they run a lap and give their coaches a high five or complete their pre run activities Before the running begins the girls participate in circle time dedicated to discussion and friendship building During one afternoon session at Pinellas Central Elementary School participants learned about inner beauty qualities At the beginning of a run each girl receives a peer s name on an index card After each lap the
